PRACTICE
Clients include a broad
range of individuals, business and associations, including
Cable Television and Communications Association of Illinois;
various cable televisions companies; a number of other partnerships
and corporations represented in connection with business
and commercial litigation, and plaintiffs' personal injury
clients.
From February through December
2000, Jim served, by temporary appointment from the Illinois
Supreme Court, as a Judge for the Circuit Court of Cook
County. During his tenure on the bench, numerous bar groups
endorsed his legal abilities, including the Chicago Bar
Association, the Hispanic Lawyers Association, Decalogue
Society of Lawyers, the Asian American Bar Association,
the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association, the Women's Bar Association,
and the Illinois State Bar Association. The Chicago Bar
Association described Jim as "extremely hardworking
and recognized by his peers as having an excellent knowledge
of the law. He has practiced extensively in the trial and
appellate courts. He will bring a deep concern for justice
to all who appear before him." (CBA letter of February
9, 2000)
Practice involves primarily
civil litigation at both the trial and appellate levels,
state and federal.
